Planning for a new puppy is very important. It is essential that you and your family have a plan and understand why you are
getting a new companion.
Question 1: What is the puppy's purpose in YOUR life?
Will this puppy be strictly a family pet? Will he be used for hunting? There is a difference in how the puppy
needs to be raised in order to reach your goal and have an outstanding companion. If he will be a pet, he will probably spend
some time inside. This kind of dog will need to be a little more laid back and relaxed. Spoiling is much easier to do and
more acceptable than if he was to be used for hunting. We have a calendar of dates that you can use to help plan your puppy's
hunting training and career.
Question 2: Where can I purchase a puppy?
The obvious answer would be a pet store. However, we suggest that you check with many kennels and dog breeders before making
a decision on what breed, what sex, and how much you want to spend on your puppy.
Another great place to find a pet is a local animal shelter. To see a few pets that are waiting to be adopted,
